Privacy

Collect only what the desk needs

Contributor tools collect information only for credential verification, moderation, private request tracking and accountable maintenance.

Restricted use

The directory remains restricted while contributor access is established. Issue reports store the details and optional name or email a person chooses to provide.

Contributor identity

Signed-in email and display name are stored with account role and activity. Reporter applications require a current APA or ABA press pass or media card and a redacted driver’s-license image.

Identity minimization

Applicants are instructed to cover the license number, address, birth date, expiration date, signature and barcode. Reviewers need only the visible name, photograph and issuing state to compare identity with the association credential.

Private work

Saved request drafts, event logs, organization memberships and link proposals are visible only through authenticated, role-checked workspace routes. The service does not send records requests automatically.

Files and security

Identity evidence, link evidence and release artifacts are stored in private object storage. Identity uploads are limited to validated image formats, file size is restricted and stored names are normalized.

Audit and retention

Identity images are deleted after approval or rejection. The application decision, association type, reviewer and event history remain for access integrity. Applications still awaiting information retain their files until a final decision.

Questions and requests
